Eleventh Photo Entry

11th PHOTO ENTRY

It's February 26. A university is celebrating it's foundation day and is having a beauty contest.

Here's a preview of the screen up close.

2,000+ people are present (students, teachers, their families and friends, as well as alumnis)

Before the show started, I asked my friend (who happens to be the head for the presentation board) to present my "message" in front of the crowd.

The design I created was simple. I thought that If I added a photo of you (Sir Abe), I would get the crowd's attention. I didn't add a lot of icons so that the people can concentrate more on the message.

PNP Checkpoint

TENTH PHOTO ENTRY

Location: Old National Highway

Happening: PNP Checkpoint

It's tuesday morning. Before I went to the place I'm working for, I decided to stop my the PNP Checkpoint (I told you, I always bring my tarpaulin with me hehehe)

The PNP helped my raise my tarpaulin so that people would see it clearly.

It's a checkpoint - every car that passed by saw it. ;-)

Marching Band

Nineth Photo Entry

Location: San Pedro, Laguna
Happening: Marching Band
I was informed by my friends (band members) that they'll be having a band march tonight so I quickly grabbed my tarpaulin and went to the plaza to attend the procession.
We passed by different barangays such as San Vicente, Nueva, Cuyab, San Antonio, San Roque, etc. In all fairness, masakit sa kilikili ang magbuhat ng tarp sa prusisyon.

San Pedro - Sampaguita Festival

Eight Photo Entry

Location: San Pedro Laguna Plaza
Happening: Basketball game during fiesta
People are everywhere in this time of the year in San Pedro Laguna.
Again, I grabbed the opportunity to have my photo taken on the stage where
EVERYONE CAN SEE ME.
Yes, a little embarrassing but It'll never hurt to try.

Century Tuna Super Bods Run

Seventh Photo Entry

It is a Sunday morning and a great day for a run. Too bad we weren't able to sign up for Century Tuna's Super Bods Run but we still went just to see how many people were there and just for fun.

I woke up around 4am and met my friends around 5am. We got to the fort around 7am and almost everyone have just finished their final lap for the race.

Runners lined up to their respective booths to get their food stubs. I had my picture taken there with, of course, my tarpaulin.

We went to check the finish line and yes, everyone is finished. Runners are now either eating, having their picture taken or having fun in the play booths provided by century tuna.

Celebrities and Impersonators are present. As I glanced at a corner, I saw the face PACMAN and his trainer. I laughed and had my picture taken with them as well.

As you can see, people are packed in this event.

I was so tired after an hour of looking around and tasting free food, so I sat on a corner and placed my beloved tarpaulin where everyone can see it.

I even got a picture of my tarp with Victor Basa!

Before we leave, I had my picture taken again. I'm really determined to win this. hehehe.

In short, I really loved our short trip to the Fort today. Because of yugatech's contests, me and my friends have something to look forward to and we get to experience different things.

"Effort kung effort" - That's how my friends would say it. The moment I read yugatech's contest. I immediately started thinking of unique ideas as to how I'm going to pose.

I made sure that my shots show how many people are looking at my "sign".

I also made sure that my sign is visible to people even from a distance.

I made sure that the design of my tarpauline is simple so that people can easily read the message.

And the most important of all, I made sure that me and my friends enjoyed every second of what we were doing.

Truly, memorable ang bawat shot for all of us!

A weekend to remember - Ongpin and Quiapo

4th entry: Quiapo, Manila

5th entry: Binondo Suites Hotel

6th entry: Ongpin, Chinese New year

(More great pictures at the bottom)

February 13, 2010 – My friends and I visited Ongpin to witness the CHINESE NEWY YEAR on the following day. We stayed at Binondo Suites that night. This hotel had a big celebration/ program for the upcoming event in the morning.

People were gathered to watch the singing and dancing of the contestants of the program. There’s even a camera shooting the programs (probably playing on every television that night – cable).

Since I always bring my tarpaulin with me, I ask my friends to take my picture as soon as the guard allowed me to enter the middle of the crowd.

The guard didn’t let me but I insisted. I tried getting in the middle lots of times and my friends successfully took a shot of my every move.

On my third try, since they cannot stop me, the guards just smiled and let me have my picture taken. It was sort of embarrassing but fun at the same time. With this experience, I met lots of people.

February 14, 2010 - We were still in Ongpin. We joined the parade were the dragon visited every establishment there.

It was so hard to be close to the dragon because of all the people and the firecrackers! Scary! Good thing my friends are wise enough to climb up the fire truck to have a good shot of what was happening in Ongpin.

Along with the other professional and amateur photographers, my friends struggled to have a good shot because of the smoke and everything that is going on.

I had quite a few good shots with the dragons and the people.

There's this one time that I was able to have a shot with the dragons while dancing and the photographers were taking pictures of me too (well, they had no choice because they were really aiming at the dragons and I was in front of them).

After the Chinese New Year Celebration, we decided to go to Quiapo and attend the mass there.

Since I have my tarpaulin with me, I also had my photo taken there with all the people (after the mass of course). I even asked one of the vendors if I can borrow her chair to stand on while raising the tarpaulin.

It was Sunday and lots people from diffrent places were there to buy different things that they need.

I just loved my weekend!
